The Deal (26 Cards)
Two standard 52-card decks are shuffled (104 cards, no jokers). All cards are dealt evenly: 26 to each of the 4 players across 2 teams.
Follow Suit
Dealer's left leads the opening trick. Players must follow the led suit if they have it. Card rank: A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.
Trump (Hukum) Call
The first player unable to follow suit declares 'Mindi!' and their team selects the Trump suit, which beats all non-trump cards.
Capture Dahlas (10s)
Each captured 10 awards 1 point (8 total). The team that takes the 26th trick earns +1 bonus point. 5+ points wins the hand!

Mindi (also known as Mendicot, Mendi Coat, or Dehla Pakad) is a traditional Indian 4-player trick-taking partnership card game. Two teams of two players sit opposite each other and compete across 26 tricks using a 104-card double deck to capture the crucial tens ('Dahlas').
In the standard 'First Void Calls' (Katte / Hukum) ruleset, the game begins with no pre-assigned trump. The first player who is void of the led suit declares 'Mindi!' and chooses the trump suit for that hand, which immediately shifts game control.
There are 8 tens in total across both standard 52-card decks. Each captured 10 awards 1 point. Capturing 5 or more tens (or 4 tens plus the decisive 26th trick decider point) wins the hand and avoids getting coated.
In Mindi scoring, winning all 8 Dahlas when you were the dealing team is a White Coat (Safed Coat), whereas winning all 8 Dahlas against the dealers is a Black Coat (Kala Coat / Kot), representing a total shutout victory.
